Owning an original tripod BOG DeathGrip for years has allowed me to be ready in any situation while hunting and to also be comfortable while having my firearm ready. It has also allowed me to introduce my two grandsons to hunting while feeling secure in the knowledge their firearm is at the ready, even on long sits.

Having an extra hand is always helpful when you are hunting, and the BOG DeathGrip has been the answer to that problem. However, it’s a boss at over eight pounds, making packing in the original model a task. BOG now has an answer to that challenge: the BOG DeathGrip Bantam.

The BOG DeathGrip Bantam is designed to perform as well as its big brother, but be a little more forgiving in the weight department. Weighing in at just over three pounds, the Bantam is lighter than 44% of the competition. Adding the BOG DeathGrip Bantam to the side of my pack didn’t affect the weight distribution, so packing for a long trek became easy.

In addition, while offering the lighter weight, the Bantam tripod still provides ideal shooting from the sitting to kneeling shooting positions as the height is adjustable from 20 to 42 inches. The Bantam creates a level surface with twisting leg locks and rubber feet that are great for traction and reducing noise.

There are a lot of clamping heads on the market to hold a firearm, but the BOG DeathGrip is in a class of its own, holding up to 40 pounds securely with perfect tilt adjustment and pan control, plus interior lining to keep your firearm from being damaged.

I’ve used BOG shooting sticks and the DeathGrip for years and love them. They have always been the perfect addition to hunts with the grandboys. The new BOG DeathGrip Bantam will be part of my go-to gear as I hunt solo and trek a little further out into the wide-open spaces. It will certainly be in my pack this spring to keep my .410 ready for an approaching gobbler.

From sitting in turkey chairs this spring to trekking the mountains for a fall hunt, this stick is designed to be your best hunting partner.
