Instructions

  1. Prep the turkey: Rinse and pat dry the turkey breast. Coat with olive oil or melted butter.
  2. Season: Mix smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, salt, cayenne, and brown sugar. Rub this mixture all over the turkey, ensuring even coverage.
  3.  Prepare smoker: Preheat your smoker to 225°F.
  4. Smoke the turkey: Place the turkey on the smoker grates, and smoke for 3-4 hours or until the internal temperature reaches 155°F.
  5. Rest and slice: Once smoked, let the turkey rest for 10-15 minutes before slicing.

For Alabama White BBQ Sauce

  1. Mix: Combine all ingredients in a bowl and whisk until smooth. Adjust seasonings to taste.
  2. Chill: Let the sauce chill in the fridge for at least an hour for the flavors to meld together.

Assembling the Sandwich

  1. Toast the buns: Lightly toast the sandwich buns or rolls for added texture.
  2. Assemble: Spread Alabama white BBQ sauce on both sides of the bun. Layer with slices of smoked turkey followed by more BBQ sauce.
  3. Serve: Serve immediately with extra Alabama white sauce on the side. Enjoy.
