Conservation projects occur at all levels, from the smallest wildlife management area to multimillion-acre, multistate forest restoration projects and everywhere in between. The NWTF has all bases covered.
NWTF members contribute to the entire spectrum of NWTF’s mission delivery, including wild turkey research efforts, landscape-scale conservation delivery, hunting heritage programs and more. However, many people don’t know that by simply signing up as an NWTF member a portion of your donation goes directly back into conservation and education and outreach projects in your state of residence.
“In the last 10 years, members that sign up outside of our event programs have contributed $1.18 million toward mission delivery in their respective states,” said Elisa Daly, NWTF director of national events and membership marketing. “Once someone signs up or renews, a portion of the proceeds is allocated annually to their state chapter’s Super Fund. It is a great way to give back to the resource in your state.”
Formally known as the NWTF’s Hunting Heritage Super Fund, this funding model is a decades-long program well-known throughout the country as a conservation powerhouse. Created in the NWTF’s formative years, the Super Fund is a volunteer-driven program that illustrates how volunteers working for the NWTF mission are the organization's lifeblood.
The Super Fund is powered by volunteers in every state who raise money at banquets and other fundraisers and then allocate a significant portion of those funds back into meaningful conservation and outreach projects in their respective states. It’s a picture-perfect example of how the NWTF truly operates as a national federation.
By signing up, you can directly help fund your home state’s Super Fund.
“Our members may not realize how impactful their membership is to conservation in their state,” Daly said. “All current NWTF members should encourage their friends, family and hunting buddies to sign up, too; the difference our members could make in their state would be amplified. There is strength in numbers.”
Through their Super Fund, states fund critical wild turkey research projects, habitat enhancement projects, mentored hunts, landscape-scale initiatives and more. Moreover, these funds are often matched several times over by NWTF’s incredible partners throughout the nation, multiplying the effect of every dollar contributed.
As the NWTF celebrates its 50th anniversary, there has never been an easier way to bring in new members to the flock, all while making a significant conservation impact, both in your backyard and across the country. The NWTF’s $50 for the 50th campaign offers two memberships for only $50, allowing current members to renew their membership for one year while gifting the second membership to a friend, or gifting two memberships to two friends.
