NWTF’s Convention and Sport Show Just a Month Away

EDGEFIELD, S.C. — Conservationists, turkey hunters and outdoor enthusiasts from far and wide are counting down the minutes until the NWTF flock descends upon the Gaylord Opryland Resort and Convention Center in Nashville, Tennessee, for the organization’s 49th annual Convention and Sport Show, which is just over one month away. “As winter wanes and the incoming spring turkey season gets that much closer, our national Convention and Sport Show is the perfect time to get excited for the outdoor obsession that we cherish,” said NWTF co-CEO Jason Burckhalter said. “It is a time for our volunteers, partners and staff from all corners of the country to gather in one place and become energized for delivering on our mission for the rest of the year, ensuring the future of turkey hunting and our nation’s natural resources are conserved into perpetuity. We look forward to you joining us for the celebration. This is a convention you do not want to miss!” 

The first 2025 convention event starts Wednesday, Feb. 12, and the last event is tentatively set for Sunday, Feb. 16. The exhibit hall is open Thursday, Feb. 13 – Saturday, Feb. 15, 2025. 

With over 500 exhibitors and the outdoor industry buzzing about this year’s event, the flock is looking forward to nonstop camaraderie and fellowship as well as breaking last year’s attendance record of 72,000-plus individuals. 

Early Convention and Sport Show registration, sponsored by Chêne, begins Tuesday, Feb. 11 at 8 a.m. and runs through Saturday. Sport Show doors open Thursday, Feb. 13 at 9 a.m. The event concludes with the highly anticipated Grand National Auction on Saturday night and a worship service Sunday morning. In addition to the convention events and the over 500 exhibitor booths set up on the show floor, talented taxidermists, call makers and turkey callers will compete in their respective areas of expertise as part of the NWTF’s coveted Grand National competitions. Attendees are able to witness the talent of these individuals as their skills are put on display throughout the event. Additionally, the NWTF will host its new “Ask a Biologist” event, an opportunity for NWTF wild turkey biologists to engage and interact with turkey hunters and sport show attendees.
