“The NWTF is proud to have supported over $5.5 million in academic scholarships to students across North America who demonstrate a commitment to conservation, academic excellence and who possess the leadership skills to make a difference,” said Mandy Harling, NWTF national director of education and outreach programs.
The purpose of the NWTF’s academic scholarship program is to recognize students for their outstanding academic achievement, community involvement and leadership roles. Local chapters award a scholarship and winners are also eligible to earn additional scholarships at the state and national level. The national scholarship winner will receive a $10,000 scholarship, sponsored by Mossy Oak.
The application portal for the NWTF academic scholarship opens on November 1 and it can be found by visiting https://your.nwtf.org/scholarships/.
The NWTF’s scholarship program is named for Dr. James Earl Kennamer, who served as the NWTF’s chief conservation officer and guided the conservation efforts of the organization in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
“It is the young and determined conservationists who will carry the NWTF mission forward for generations to come,” said Harling.
To date, the NWTF National Scholarship Program has awarded more than $5.5 million at the local, state and national level to students pursuing conservation-related careers.
