The accomplishments of this year’s winners include Membership Achievement and Top Contributing Event awards.

Top Contributing Event Awards are given to chapters that raised the most collective funds through all events.

Ohio WITO Chapter: Ohio State WITO Three-Day Event

This event featured classes in firearms, hunting skills, crafts, fishing, outdoor cooking, survival, outdoor hobbies, archery and a live pheasant hunt. The Ohio Department of Wildlife officers taught handgun safety, field dressing and archery classes. The event was also an opportunity to share information about local chapters, single-day events or sponsors. This was the 23rd annual event.

Virginia State Chapter – Wheelin’ Sportsmen Event

“Billy Hall and I started this event a few years ago,” said Robin Clark, Wheelin’ Sportsmen state coordinator of Virginia.
“The Wheelin’ Sportsmen Lucky 13 raffle has a cash prize for the 13th prize of $1,313.13. We, as a chapter, are so grateful to have this event recognized on a national scale.”

Similar to Top Contributing Event Awards, Membership Achievement Awards are given to chapters that bring in the most new NWTF members through NWTF outreach and education events, such as JAKES, Women in the Outdoors and Wheelin’ Sportsmen events. This year’s Membership Achievement Award winners are the NWTF Benton County Chapter for its WITO event and the Minnesota Struttin’ Toms Chapter for its Wheelin’ Sportsmen event.

“We are proud to recognize Education and Outreach events that help raise funds for our mission and grow our membership base,” NWTF co-CEO Jason Burckhalter said. “Bringing in new members and funds for mission delivery is critical for success, and these chapters have done both.”
