Kentucky Senate Passes Resolution Commemorating 50 Years of NWTF
EDGEFIELD, S.C. — Championed by Kentucky State Sen. Robin L. Webb, Kentucky Senate Resolution 119 commemorates the NWTF for its 50th Anniversary and mission delivery across Kentucky and the nation. NWTF volunteers from Kentucky recently met with Webb to express their gratitude for enshrining the NWTF’s legacy in Kentucky state law.
“The NWTF has a long and rich history working with the Kentucky Department of Fish and Wildlife to create better turkey habitat and preserve our hunting heritage,” said Ralph Riley, NWTF Kentucky State Chapter president. “On behalf of the entire Kentucky flock, we are immensely grateful to be recognized for our anniversary and success, and we look forward to the next 50 years!”
The joint resolution, in part, reads:
“… WHEREAS, the National Wild Turkey Federation invested over $8.5 million into research dedicated to keeping healthy current and future wild turkey populations, which has aided the return of the wild turkey from the brink of extinction; and WHEREAS, the National Wild Turkey Federation is commended for its dedication and commitment these past 50 years and in future years; NOW, THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Senate of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Kentucky … The Senate congratulates the National Wild Turkey Federation on the 50th Anniversary of its founding and commends it for its commitment to the wild turkey species, the hunting heritage, and the preservation of lands across the nation and the world.”

The NWTF policy team and its volunteer leadership are working with state legislatures across the country to pass similar measures this year that enshrine the NWTF’s legacy and mission delivery into state law.
