Cabela’s XL Lounger – a Turkey Hunter’s Dream Chair
There are turkey chairs and then there is Cabela’s XL Turkey Lounger or the Big Man Hunting Lounger as the website calls it. Let me tell you, this is one stout chair!
While my normal trek through the woods to hunt wild turkeys is usually more on the mobile side, when I’m taking the grandboys hunting, sitting in a blind is much more practical. The Cabela’s XL Lounger is perfect for those long sits and quite conversations in the morning or afternoon blind.
Roomy is an understatement. The chair is 32”H x 24”W x18”D and comes in a cinchable carry bag for transport. The lounger provided a low-profile resting spot, while the powder-coated steel frame is stout enough for most hunters as its maximum weight capacity is 400 pounds.
Many of my favorite hunting spots often sport uneven ground. While many chairs have feet designed to make your sit steady, the Cabela’s XL Turkey Lounger has extra large feet that pivot to keep you safe and secure while waiting out the tough toms.
Taking the chair to the blind or into the field is a chore on my small frame, as it weighs over 12 pounds, but the rewards of being able to sit in a big chair for longer periods was worth the effort, particularly for our blind hunts.
Other features of the chair include:

While this lounger turkey chair may not fit the most mobile hunting treks, it certainly lives up to the hype as being a Big Man Lounger and is perfect for my blind hunts.
