New York State Assembly Commends NWTF for Steadfast Commitment to Conservation
EDGEFIELD, S.C. — Championed by Assemblyman Joseph Angelino, New York Assembly Resolution K00606 honoring the NWTF’s 50th Anniversary and the organization’s milestones recently passed the state assembly.
“On behalf of the entire NWTF New York State Chapter, we are proud to be recognized for 50 years of mission success,” said Eric Davis, NWTF New York State Chapter president. “We have a great working partnership with the New York Department of Environmental Conservation that is not only conserving wild turkeys and essential wildlife habitat, but working to make turkey hunting more accessible to those interested in the sport. We don’t do this for recognition, but we are honored for the recognition for our efforts.”
The resolution, in part, reads:
“… WHEREAS, It is the sense of this Legislative Body that the continuing welfare of the citizens of the State of New York is greatly enriched and reliably served by the purposeful endeavors of those organizations committed to the preservation of the natural world, the enrichment of knowledge of local and global wildlife, and the promotion of environmental citizenship; and
WHEREAS, Attendant to such concern, and in full accord with its long-standing traditions, this Legislative Body is justly proud to commend the National Wild Turkey Federation upon the occasion of celebrating its 50th Anniversary; and
WHEREAS, The National Wild Turkey Federation provides ceaseless support to science-based wildlife management, research, and habitat conservation; and…”
